The Series Work

amorvace

Most of my work is done in a “series” or in groups that all work together to create a larger picture. Below are the different series I have done. Click on one to see more, or, scroll to the bottom to click a link that will direct you to a gallery of all the work I have done.

Tiny Man

Tiny Man - Field

Tiny Man - Cave

Tiny Man - Burning Bush

Tiny Man - Gone

Tiny Man - Disperse

Tiny Man - Cage

The Tiny Man series began directly before (Cave, Field) and directly after (Burning Bush, Gone) I started the healing journey.

These paintings are supposed to capture the wonder as well as the feeling of “smallness” that lies within each of us. It's about moments, small moments, where we are left remembering the place instead of ourselves. It's about a person that has helped me in my journey. Everyone loves tiny man, and he's tiny, yes, but that doesn't mean he's insignificant.

The series continues... more can be found on my instagram site. Mugs are available in my Zazzle Store.

The Male and Female
Gaze Series

Male Gaze 1

Male Gaze 2

Male Gaze 3

“He looked in her eyes and only saw what was between her legs.”

Dating in the modern age is hard. When you are dating, there is a tendency to be seen differently as a woman in the dating world by men. This series is about just that: the way a woman presents under the male gaze. Although the female portraits would lead you to believe that it is about the women, it is actually a series dedicated to the way in which men have often gazed upon women–as sexual objects, as conquests, as something to sexualize and admire.

If it brings up feelings of squeamishness or discomfort, good. That’s the point. This is supposed to be a little creepy.

There are two (1, 2, 3) additional paintings in this series.

Memory Series
First Person Perspective (POV)

The Inspection

The Collapse

The Bath

This series involves so many private and personal stories that are hard to want to describe. These memories are done with as much specificity as I could conjure up. The distorted nature of the paintings is reflective of trying to encompass human sight onto a 2D flat surface. These legs were practice for the male and female gaze series.

Red Barrel o' Monkey
as the Inner Child

The Embrace

The Tunnel - painted over by Rage.

This is an ongoing and difficult series to explain. We all have trauma and we all remember most of it through the lens of children. In doing so, imagination and memory can clash into entirely new memories. This series explores just that.

This series involved the barrel-o-monkey’s red monkey. The red monkey represents my inner child within the memory. The image to the left is the best I can conjure up of the trauma itself. The image on the right is representative of the feeling I had waking up from surgery (surgery that was a result trauma)

There are more that feature the inner child's barrel o' monkey (1, 2, 3).
